Great question. The brain is filled with lots and lots of cells because we cannot grow new brain cells. We can only make more and more connections. So when you are born we need all the cells we might need throughout our whole lives!! The number of cells won’t change in the brain, only how much we learn and new memories we make. We need to make sure we have enough so we can make the most connections possible!
