My dream was to always have a job which would make a difference to lots and lots of people. I have always wanted to do something that could inspire people or encourage others. I went through ideas of being a marine biologist (swimming with dolphins mainly!), being a teacher, being a forensic scientist and then realised, all these things had science in common. I have always wanted to know the answers to questions that haven’t even been asked yet.

I also had a dream to be able to go and see Arsenal FC play in the F.A Cup final.. still haven’t managed to fulfill that dream yet!

To get rid of all the diseases in the world…
I soon realised that it wasn’t possible to find cure for all diseases out there.
Then, I decided that if lots of people like me dedicated themselves to research, may be we can cure some if not all. That’s why I try to encourage all to do science and especially research so one day the world can be a much better place.

You never know you might be looking at a black and white picture of me on a wall somewhere in the future:)) “The scientist whose discoveries helped us understand brain diseases” or not…:)

I always wanted to be a musician, and I am in my spare time.

I also wanted to learn to dance properly, which I have. And ride a clydesdale horse… and I’ve done that too. I had my own clydesdale horse on loan for a whole year. I always wanted a motorcycle, and now I have one. I always wanted to write computer programs, and I’ve been doing that since I was 5!

And I always wanted kids, and now I have two, Finlay and Louis.

I never dreamed of being a scientist… I’m just really interested in biology.

Eventually I want to be a teacher. For now I’m working with schools in Midlothian to help them with science.

I always wanted to be a scientist- I was good at it and I loved doing it outside school. I used to make clocks out of potatoes and would always ask for chemistry and microscope sets for Christmas. I loved the idea of discovering and exploring things. As I grew up i realized I was quite good at science so thats a good thing really- so really am following my dreams at the moment.

I don’t know if I have always had a ‘dream’ since I was younger.

Probably the ability to play with computers and do something interesting, but don’t really have a specific dream since I was younger.
