• Question: What is the worst brain disease you've come across during your time being a scientist?

      The worst brain diseases for me are the ones that affect children. Unfortunately there are many and some we cannot even do anything about like a tumor in the brain stem for example.
      Children with severe Autism is also another one that I find very upsetting. As scientists, I feel the responsibility that we should work harder to find treatments so they can have better lives.

      The list is long, there are children born with Anencephaly, where some of your brain is exposed and most of it is not there. Spina bifida whensome of the spine is exposed and surgically needs to be closed. Microcephaly which makes the brains tiny and those children will have problems throughout their lives. And many more…

      That’s why we need scientists and support from the public and the government to support us to do research. 🙂
