• Question: What would happen if the sun became a supernova?

      The Sun would explode emitting more energy in a short period of time than it has in all of its 5 billion years of life. It would also be very bright and would be visible even from other galaxies. Earth would be destroyed as well by this energy.

      However, the Sun will not go supernova as it isn’t massive enough. Only very massive stars produce supernova which later become black holes.
