That depends on exactly what you mean… but in about 7 billion years the sun will turn into a red giant and will engulf the Earth… so it will definitely be gone then.

The world may end at anytime in principle if there’s a nuclear war. We could also destroy the earth with global warming, killing most life. For sure, the sun will become a red giant in about 5 billion years and that will cook the earth and it will be gone.

But some people say in millions of years time the sun will shrink not grow, so what is correct?
