Its to do with the lens at the front of your eye. Its like a lens in a camera. It helps your eye focus on different parts of what you are seeing, but also due to the way it is shaped, inverts the image and that is what is seen by the back of your eye ball. As you said its up to your brain to flip it round the right way!

It is due to the curvature of the cornea in our eye where the light reflected from objects enter our eyes. Due to cornea being curved, the inage appears as inverted-Optics yayyy! 🙂 And smart brains correct the image for us:)

It is all to do with the lenses in our eyes! Because these lenses are curved i means that when we see things the image is the wrong way up! It is like looking at the back of a spoon! When we look into the curved bit of the spoon we are upside down! The spoon isn’t as luck as us! We have our brains to work out what way round everything is!!

The pupil inverts the light, just like in a pinhole camera.
