• Question: Has anyone that has had cancer come into your lab?

      Yes! We get visitors all the time. Most are fundraisers, people who’ve raise money for Cancer Research UK. But some of those fundraisers do it because they themselves have cancer, or have had cancer.

      One woman in particular – I heard about her fundraising from her husband (he sold me my scooter) – he told me about her battle with cancer and the £100s she raise so I told him that she could visit the lab if she wanted… so she did 🙂

      No, I haven’t had a visit from a cancer patient. But, I had colleagues who battled cancer and came back to work which is very nice. People feel like they are born again and thanks to modern day medicine many people win their battles against cancer.

      No, but my family has been affected. I think we all know someone who has been. Cancer really does affect us all and really commend all those who are fighting cancer on a personal level and in the lab.

      I haven’t had a visit from a cancer patient, but downstairs in my building is the European Stem Cells Cancer Research department. They has visits from patients with cancer and sometimes I see them.
