      So by making computers run faster and smaller- you can process much more information. This may seem like it just helps phones but actually a lot of science works with a lot of numbers that you just wouldn’t be able to do without a computer. So by making them faster you can actually do much more difficult maths and ultimately help society in many ways though just better computing. The reach of computing is vast- I would say every part of science needs it.

      I plan to study brain stem cells to see if I can find treatments for brain diseases!

      I plan to

      1) improve the computer software that scientists use for mass spectrometry, so they can do cancer research quicker

      2) improve the speed at which we can run the mass spectrometer, so we can do cancer research quicker

      3) help schools in my area with STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) so that the students have more fun and learn more.
