• Question: What makes popcorns pop?

      When the seed heats up inside, gas is release and the proteins bind together, the whole thing tries to expand like a sponge, but the shell of the seed stop is expanding… until the pressure gets too much and the shell pops, and out somes the spongy protein.

      The heat makes the gas heat up and the gas cannot stay there any longer! POP! The corn expands and here it the yummy popcorn. Ask your parents if you can buy some popcorn kernels and try it! It is really fun!
