Oh great question. Emotions all come from a bit in the centre of our brain. It is called the ‘amygdala.’ it is a really hard word to say – say it ‘am-ig-da-la’.. That’s it! It is the area of the brain which talks to the outside of our brain. We react to things we see because chemicals in the amygdala change. We then work out what this means by the amygdala interacting with the outside of our brains.

Well, mostly the brain, but it’s a combination of state of mind, hormone levels, glucose and salt levels, context, and the things we are faced with… it’s really complex.

Emotions are a fundamental way of dealing with the world… they form part of our intuition, which is basically understanding the world on a subconcious level. Intuition is very powerful for survival and emotions are a part of that.
