• Question: what things did you invent this month?

      I build a special piece of equipment that mean I can process 192 samples at once. Normally it would take me about 1 hour to clean up 12 samples ready for the mass spec, but now I can do 192 in the same time 🙂

      This month I made a new type of maternal- well actually a sandwich of materials that range between very conductive (electricity can pass easy like in a metal) to very insulating (electricity cannot pass like wood). It had never been done before with the materials I used so I was very happy when I looked at it under the microscope and it had worked.

      This month I discovered that my protein not only lives in the cell cytoplasm(liquid bit) but also in the nucleus(center) where the DNA is! 🙂
