• Question: when autistic people flap their hands is it wrong ? Or is it right because their brain is telling them too ?

      People with autism has problems with senses. Sometime they find places too loud, colours too strong to look at, and they can’t speak very well. Some of them can, others find it quite hard. The hand flapping is a lot to do with sensory problems. They find it hard to touch things too, and it might make them uncomfortable. For them, it can be comforting and yes, people with autism have brains which are a bit different so they use this action whereas people without autism don’t. It is nice for them. They like to see different patterns sometimes and the hand flapping helps.

      It is right. It’s part of their natural response to things.
