• Question: Why are the planets in our solar system in a particular order?

      Great question. We don’t really know.

      The smaller planets close to the Sun are all rocky planets – consisting of essentially rocks and mountains while the outer planets – jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune are all gas giants. Probably the gas giants formed further away because they had more room and were far away from the gravitational effects of the sun, so they could form without disruption.
