• Question: Why do we loose hair when we have cancer?

      The therapy we use to try and make the tumours smaller makes our hair fall out. We use chemotherapy which are really strong chemicals which will attack growing cancer cells. What is also does is attack other really rapidly growing cells, like hair cells. They grow really quick and unfortunately the chemicals attack them too and stop them growing. We loose hair everywhere, not just on our heads.

      They also attack the cells growing in your tummy which makes you ill, and the cells growing in your immune system which means you’re more likely to get infections.
