• Question: why do we pee ourselves whilst sleeping?

      A few reason, but almost always because we need the loo.

      Normally, we develop the ability to hold it in, even when we’re asleep…

      But sometimes, when you need to go to dream that you’re going and then you go!

      And sometimes stress can mean you lose that ability to hold it in temporarily.

      Sometimes there might be a problem with the hormones which control when you pee. When you are awake you are able to go to the toilet so it doesn’t really affect you. However, when you are asleep, this imbalance in chemicals in the brain could cause you to pee without waking up. Sometime it is because we drink something before we go to bed, but usually you wake up before peeing yourself. If someone is really really tired and they are in a really deep sleep, they could still pee themselves even if there is nothing wrong with their hormones.
