• Question: Will the cure for cancer be expensive ?

      That’s very difficult to say…. it depends on the what the cure is…

      It is certainly very expensive to do the research. Each program grant is millions of pounds and there are hundreds of these in the UK (I think)

      But the cure itself will depend… It might be a drug that’s already in use and cheap that turns out to be the cure, then the cure will be cheap and easy.

      Or maybe the only cure will be “personalised medicine” which will be so expensive that there’s no way we could realistically afford to fund it.
