Question: Would you just spend your money on school resources?

Yes, if I win the prize money from this competition, I will donate to our local primary school for STEM clubs. We will discuss what needs to be bought and decide how to spend it.
Saying that, if I ever have lots of money, I would definitely donate to education causes and charities for the elderly.
